Trans-Siberian Orchestra brings 30th anniversary winter tour to Mohegan Sun

Trans-Siberian Orchestra is bringing its landmark 30th anniversary Winter Tour to Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville. The group will perform two shows on Sunday, Nov. 29, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.

The 2026 tour features a reimagined staging of the group’s production, “The Ghosts of Christmas Eve,” followed by a second set. The performance includes the group’s traditional audio and visual presentation, featuring lasers, pyrotechnics, and special effects.

Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, Sept. 18, at 10:00 a.m. through Ticketmaster. Fan Club pre-sales begin Sept. 10 and 11, followed by national and local pre-sales on Sept. 17. Lower-priced ticket inventory has been expanded across all tour stops to keep the event accessible to families.

“Thirty years in, we never take a single person in that audience for granted,” said TSO music director and guitarist Al Pitrelli. “With the economy the way that it is right now, it shouldn’t be a mortgage payment for a family to come out to see us.”

Pitrelli noted that late creator, lyricist, and composer Paul O’Neill emphasized providing large-scale production value for attendees. The group rebuilds and redesigns the show annually to update the experience for returning audience members.

Paul O’Neill launched the project in 1996, and the group has since grown into a multi-platinum progressive rock ensemble. Over its three-decade history, the group has generated more than $1 billion in gross ticket sales.

In a 2010 statement, O’Neill reflected on the group’s goal for concertgoers. He noted that the production aims to deliver an experience that exceeds audience expectations for concert value.

The featured story, “The Ghosts of Christmas Eve,” is based on the group’s television show and DVD release. The plot centers on a runaway who enters an abandoned vaudeville theater on Dec. 24 and interacts with the building’s caretaker and historical spirits.

The performance includes signature holiday compositions written by O’Neill and the group’s composers. The setlist features “Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24,” which is certified 3x Platinum by the RIAA and stands as the third best-selling digital holiday single in music history with over 300 million global streams.

Additional tracks in the production include “Christmas Canon,” which has accumulated over 250 million streams, alongside “O Come All Ye Faithful,” “Mad Russian Christmas,” “Wizards in Winter,” “Requiem (the Fifth),” and “This Christmas Day.”

At least $1 from every ticket sold for the tour is donated to local charities. In 2024, the group announced it had surpassed 20 million total tickets sold and distributed more than $20 million to charitable organizations across North America.
