Hartford Yard Goats to face Reading Fightin Phils in Eastern League playoff series

The Hartford Yard Goats will begin the Eastern League Northeast Division Championship Series on Tuesday night against the Reading Fightin Phils. The Double-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies opens the best-of-three series on the road in Reading, Pennsylvania.

Game 1 is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 15, at FirstEnergy Stadium, with first pitch set for 6:55 p.m. The Yard Goats secured their postseason spot by winning the Eastern League first-half championship.

The series moves to Dunkin’ Park in Hartford for Game 2 on Thursday, Sept. 17, at 6:30 p.m. Reading clinched the second-half title to set up the matchup against Hartford.

If necessary, a decisive Game 3 will take place at Dunkin’ Park on Friday, Sept. 18, at 6:30 p.m. The winner of the series advances to the best-of-three Eastern League Championship Series.

The championship series begins Sunday, Sept. 20, on the road. The winning team will face either the Richmond Flying Squirrels or the Erie SeaWolves in Virginia or Pennsylvania.
