Broadway musical The Great Gatsby announces Hartford performance dates

The Bushnell announced that tickets for the North American tour of the Broadway musical The Great Gatsby will go on sale Tuesday, July 14, at 10 a.m. The production will play at the Hartford venue from Tuesday, September 29, through Sunday, October 4, 2026.

Tickets can be purchased online at bushnell.org, by calling (860) 987-5900, or in person at The Bushnell box office located at 166 Capitol Avenue in Hartford. Group tickets for parties of 10 or more are currently available by calling (860) 987-5959 or emailing groups@bushnell.org.

Based on the 1925 novel by F. Scott Fitzgerald, the musical is set during the Roaring Twenties. The story focuses on millionaire Jay Gatsby and his pursuit of his former love, Daisy Buchanan. The stage adaptation features an original jazz and pop-infused score.

The production features music and lyrics by Tony Award nominees Jason Howland and Nathan Tysen, with a book by Jonathan Larson Grant winner Kait Kerrigan. The show is staged by director Marc Bruni and choreographer Dominique Kelley.

The design team includes Paul Tate dePoo III handling scenic and projection design, Linda Cho for costume design, Brian Ronan for sound design, and Cory Pattak for lighting design. Charles G. LaPointe and Rachael Geier designed the hair and wigs.

The musical won the 2024 Tony Award for Best Costume Design and the 2024 Broadway.com Audience Choice Award for Favorite New Musical. It also received nine honors at the 2024 BroadwayWorld Theater Fan’s Choice Awards, including Best Musical.

The Broadway production originally opened at The Broadway Theatre on April 25, 2024, following a world premiere at the Paper Mill Playhouse. The show has also been mounted internationally at the London Coliseum in the West End and at the GS Arts Center in Seoul.

The original novel has sold more than 30 million copies globally and continues to sell over 500,000 copies annually. It has been translated into 42 languages and adapted into multiple radio plays, video games, television programs, and feature films.

The North American tour is produced by Chunsoo Shin, OD Company, and NETworks Presentations. Mark Shacket and Trinity Wheeler serve as executive producers, with worldwide management handled by Foresight Theatrical.
