A popular children’s book adaptation is coming to Fairfield County next month. The Family Festivities series at the Westport Country Playhouse will present Pinkalicious, The Musical for two daytime performances on Sunday, June 7.

The story is based on the bestselling book by Elizabeth Kann and Victoria Kann. It focuses on a pink-loving enthusiast who develops an affliction called Pinkititis after eating too many pink cupcakes. The theatrical adaptation features music by John Gregor and direction by Michael Schloegl.

The performances will take place at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Children and families are encouraged to dress up as characters from the book for the event.

The show is produced by Vital Theatre Company, an organization founded in 1999 that received the American Theatre Wing Award for Continued Commitment to Excellence in Theatre.

Tickets are available for $35. The musical runs for 55 minutes without an intermission and is appropriate for students from pre-K through the second grade.
