A new art exhibition by Harrison Gill, featuring watercolor depictions of the Saugatuck River and Long Island Sound, is now open at the Westport Book Shop.

The exhibit is housed in the Drew Friedman Art Place, a dedicated gallery space within the nonprofit shop. The monthly rotations are curated by Miggs Burroughs, a trustee of the Drew Friedman Community Arts Center and founding member of The Artists Collective of Westport.

Gill’s work in the medium follows a career in architecture, during which he designed award-winning homes throughout the Northeast. The current May exhibit showcases his daily dedication to the watercolor medium, for which he has received recent accolades in both Connecticut and New York.

The Westport Book Shop, located at 23 Jesup Road, is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.

A reception for the artist is scheduled for the evening of May 21. Interested attendees should contact the shop to reserve a space.
