Mya to perform at Mohegan Sun Arena in August

Grammy Award-winning entertainer Mya is scheduled to perform at Mohegan Sun Arena on Sunday, August 2, 2026. The one-night-only show begins at 7:30 p.m. and follows the release of her latest studio album, RETROSPECT.

The upcoming performance is designed to feature a mix of new music alongside the hits from her career. The new record blends R&B, pop, soul, funk, and dance. It marks the latest project under her independent label, Planet 9.

Tickets for the concert are currently available through Ticketmaster. Fans can also purchase them directly at the Mohegan Sun Box Office, depending on availability.

Mya first entered the music industry in 1998 with her double-platinum, self-titled debut album. That release produced early hits like “It’s All About Me,” “Movin’ On,” and “My First Night With You.” Her second album, Fear of Flying, followed with the single “Case of the Ex.”

In 2001, she earned a Grammy Award for her part in the collaborative track “Lady Marmalade.” Her third album, Moodring, later featured the singles “My Love Is Like… Wo” and “Fallen.”

Beyond recording music, Mya expanded into acting and television. She appeared in the films Chicago and Shall We Dance, and she completed a run on Dancing with the Stars. Her performance in the ensemble cast of Chicago earned her a Screen Actors Guild Award.

She transitioned to an independent artist model in 2008 by launching Planet 9. Operating her own label allowed her to write, produce, and release her own material. Her independent releases include K.I.S.S., T.K.O. (The Knock Out), and Smoove Jones, which received a Grammy nomination for Best R&B Album.

Her work outside of entertainment includes business ventures and philanthropy. She established The Mya Arts & Tech Foundation to provide youth education in arts and technology. She also supports animal welfare, breast cancer awareness, and global humanitarian programs.
