Ivoryton Playhouse has opened its latest production of the Tony Award-winning musical Come From Away as part of its 2026 season. The show is currently on stage and runs through Sunday, September 6.

The musical tells the true story of nearly 7,000 airline passengers who were diverted to Gander, Newfoundland, and surrounding Canadian communities following the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. Over five days, local residents provided shelter, food, and assistance to 38 planes forced to land when American airspace closed.

Directed by Todd L. Underwood with music direction by Angelyn Benson, the production focuses on the real-life interactions between local residents and stranded travelers. The show forms part of the theater’s broader 2026 season dedicated to exploring American history and human experiences.

The main performance ensemble includes Mimi Bessette, Patrick Steven Bovo, Billy Clark Taylor, Dana Costello, Dee Dee Darby Duffin, Joe Delgar, Stacia Fernandez, Miles Hanna, Logan Marks, Jason Ivan Rodriguez, Autumn Eliza Sheffy, and Vicki Wepler. An eight-member understudy company supports the main cast.

The production’s creative team features scenic design by Starlet Jacobs, lighting and projections by Jessica Drayton, sound design by Rhian Franchebois, and costume design by Sean Spina.
