Westport Book Shop features oil paintings by artist Gregg Ziebell in August exhibit

The Westport Book Shop is hosting local artist Gregg Ziebell as the guest exhibitor at the Drew Friedman Art Place through August 31, 2026. The exhibition features a collection of Ziebell’s original oil paintings, focusing on still lifes, landscapes, and seascapes.

Ziebell works in a style he describes as Contemporary Impressionism, drawing inspiration from daily life to capture moments and evoke emotional responses. He holds a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Cincinnati and studied advertising layout and design at the GSAA Commercial School of Art before transitioning to full-time painting following a career in graphic design.

An active member of The Artists Collective of Westport, Ziebell continues his training through workshops at the Silvermine Arts Guild. His artwork has previously been displayed across Fairfield County venues, including The Westport Library, Weston Library, Beachwood Arts Center, Lockwood-Matthews Mansion Museum, and Redding Library.

The store will host a public artist reception on Thursday, August 13, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Due to limited space, attendees must RSVP by calling 203-349-5141 or emailing RSVP@westportbooksaleventures.org.

All artwork on display is available for purchase during regular business hours: Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. The Westport Book Shop is located at 23 Jesup Road in downtown Westport, operating as a nonprofit used bookstore that provides job training for adults with special needs and supports The Westport Library.
