Folk musician David Wilcox is scheduled to perform at The Packing House in Willington, Connecticut, on September 26. The all-ages show begins at 7:30 p.m., with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. Tickets range from $35 to $40.

Wilcox started his career in the late 1980s with his self-released debut album, The Nightshift Watchman. His 1989 major-label debut, How Did You Find Me Here, sold over 100,000 copies through word of mouth and live performances.

His discography includes subsequent albums such as Big Horizon in 1994, Turning Point in 1997, and What You Whispered in 2000. In 2018, Wilcox won top honors in the 23rd annual USA Songwriting Contest for his song “We Make the Way by Walking” from his album The View From the Edge.

Over the years, Wilcox’s songs have been covered by k.d. lang and Tony Rice, and he has collaborated and shared stages with artists including Shawn Colvin, Patty Larkin, Pierce Pettis, and John Gorka. In August 2025, he released the album The Way I Tell the Story.

The recent music created by Wilcox has been shaped by changes in his personal life, including his wife’s Parkinson’s diagnosis. The upcoming performance at The Packing House will feature his full catalog of songs in a live venue setting.
