WCSU senior art exhibition opens Thursday

Eighteen graduating art majors at Western Connecticut State University will display their work in the Senior Portfolio Exhibition beginning Thursday at the Visual and Performing Arts Center.

The exhibition, which serves as a capstone for the university’s Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Fine Arts programs, features students specializing in graphic design, illustration, photography, and studio arts. The show runs through May 10 in the university’s Westside campus gallery at 43 Lake Ave. Extension.

A public reception is scheduled for Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m.

The 2026 candidates for graduation include Bethel residents Brooks Baldwin and Tom Wolff; Danbury residents Yandra Arias, Hannah Huminski, Ian Clifford, and Divya Saini; and Stamford residents Amy Nozius and Anastasiia Vladymyrenko.

Other participating students include Danielle Cruz of Cross River, New York; Tessa Hilford of Ridgefield; April Maher of Wappingers Falls, New York; Cayden Nadolny-Pallatto of Deep River; and Kamiyah Stackhouse of the Bronx, New York.

The lineup is completed by Gracen Regan of Monroe Township, New Jersey; Anna Jordan and Leah Sadler of Brookfield; Bianca Makaj of Carmel, New York; and Lenee Brown of Norwalk.

Admission to the gallery and the opening reception is free. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday from noon to 4 p.m., and weekends from 1 to 4 p.m. Attendees are asked to register through Eventbrite.
