Vox Church distributes nearly 12,000 diapers to Bridgeport foster families

Vox Church distributed nearly 12,000 free diapers to foster families in Bridgeport on Friday, Oct. 9. The giveback event took place at the Connecticut Department of Children and Families office.

The church partnered with the department and the Connecticut Alliance of Foster and Adoptive Families on the distribution. “It takes a village to raise a child, but it takes the help of the community to build a solid foundation, security, and commitment for every child that is in need,” said Leslie Reyes of the alliance.

The diaper distribution is one of several recent efforts by Vox Church to support Bridgeport families. The church held a teacher supply drive for local educators and worked with the Bridgeport Rescue Mission to distribute more than 500 backpacks to students. It also held a summer vacation Bible school for families of P.T. Barnum School and carried out service projects with Green Village Initiative.

Hiram Orama, Bridgeport campus pastor at Vox Church, said the church aims to seek the good of the city by partnering with other churches and organizations. He said that includes serving the poor, helping those in need, and bringing new life to underserved neighborhoods.

Vox Church recently announced plans to move its Bridgeport campus to the Downtown Cabaret Theatre. The new location will provide more space for Sunday services as attendance grows. It will also support continued community outreach.

Service times and locations are available on the Vox Church website.
