Three Great Shows on view at the Lyme Art Association this summer
Three great shows are currently on view at the Lyme Art Association (LAA) in Old Lyme, CT. The first is the 103rdElected Artists Exhibition. Elected Artists are LAA’s most accomplished artists – the best of the best, and the torch-bearers of the American representational tradition. The 103rd exhibition continues this tradition of celebrating the artistry of our Elected Artists, who have submitted their best work for this annual show.
Running concurrently is Taking Flight, which considers the beauty of avian life and the exhilaration of flight. Through various art mediums and styles, member artists epitomized avian ecology and explored our human fascination with flight in this captivating show.
Lastly, LAA welcomes back to its galleries the New Haven Paint & Clay Club for their juried show, 2024 Selected Members Exhibition. The artists in this special exhibit are Diane Chandler, Robert Jacoby, Anne Johann, Gus Moran, and Greg Shea.
The shows are generously sponsored by Chelsea Groton Bank, our Supporting Sponsor. All three shows are on view through September 5. Opening Reception is Friday, August 2 from 5 – 7 pm.
Founded in 1914 by the American Impressionists, the Lyme Art Association continues the tradition of exhibiting and selling representational artwork, as well as offering art instruction and lectures to the community. Lyme Art Association is located at 90 Lyme Street in Old Lyme, CT within the national historic district. Admission is free with donations appreciated. Gallery hours are Wednesday through Sunday, 10 – 5pm. For more information, visit www.lymeartassociation.org or call (860) 434-7802
