The Pollinator Pathway Stamford Expresses Gratitude to DSSD for Kiwanis Park Transformation
The Pollinator Pathway Stamford (PPS) would like to extend their sincere thanks to Stamford Downtown Special Services District for the support in transforming Kiwanis Park into a thriving pollinator haven.
Two Eastern Land Management (ELM) employees provided exceptional assistance, and the City of Stamford mulch truck, expertly driven by John and Rich, arrived promptly to ensure the project’s success. This transformation couldn’t have been achieved without the dedication and hard work of everyone involved.
A Recap of the Day:
· Student Volunteers: Four Future 5 Students, accompanied by their adult supervisor, enthusiastically participated in the planting efforts.
· Expert Guidance: Two Master Gardeners shared their expertise and guidance to ensure proper planting techniques.
· Community Involvement: Three members from the Pollinator Pathway Stamford committee joined in the planting efforts.
· City Support: The City of Stamford generously provided free topsoil and mulch to support the project.
· Planting Success: Over 250 plants and shrubs were successfully planted, creating a vibrant habitat for pollinators.
The PPS is deeply grateful to the City of Stamford Neighborhood Microgrant for their generous funding, which made this project possible. The PPS also extends their appreciation to Stamford Downtown for their additional financial support, which helped us exceed the grant’s initial funding.
The PPS looks forward to future collaborations with Stamford Downtown and continuing efforts to create a thriving pollinator habitat in Stamford.
