On Saturday, March 23 2024, The Palace Danbury will present The Janis Joplin Experience starring Lisa Polizzi.
The look, the sound, and the soul of the legendary Janis Joplin… nobody captures it all like vocal powerhouse Lisa Polizzi! Singing professionally since the age of 14 and picking up awards along the way, Lisa Polizzi brings the spirit of Janis into the present day.
But there’s more to this story than just a gal with great pipes, it’s a testament to the power of resilience and determination.
Lisa’s life began with a challenge. Due to her mother’s contracting German measles during pregnancy, Lisa was born legally blind with just 25 percent vision. From a young age she was plagued with social isolation and uncertainty due to her limited vision. However music became her saving grace, empowering her to express herself in ways words couldn’t. Ultimately, Lisa defied the odds to rise above her visual impairment and conquer the music industry.
Since 2017 this incredible show has been playing festivals and selling out venues paying tribute to the Queen of Blues Rock. Lisa’s soulful sound-alike voice belts out hit after hit including “Piece of My Heart”, “Ball & Chain” and “Me and Bobby McGee” in a heartfelt tribute performance. Her band of seasoned pros recreates the sound that defined a generation, laying down the rock, blues, and ballads that Janis Joplin will always be remembered for.
