Natisha Hiedeman Returns to Connecticut
Sun Guard Signs Multi-Year Contract
Today, the Connecticut Sun announced that four-year guard, Natisha Hiedeman, has signed a two-year deal with the team. Per team policy, no details were released.
“We are super excited to re-sign Natisha,” remarked Connecticut Sun General Manager, Darius Taylor. “She has been a core piece to our organization’s recent success. We look forward to her flourishing under Coach White and her staff.”
Hiedeman returns for her fifth season with Connecticut, after averaging a career-best 9.1 points, 3.3 assists and 1.2 steals as the Sun’s primary ball handler during its 2022 campaign. The Green Bay native moved into the Sun’s starting lineup five games into the season and led the team to their fourth WNBA Finals appearance in franchise history, the organization’s second in the last four seasons. Hiedeman currently sits at 10th all-time in three-point field goals made in Connecticut Sun history (156), as well as 12th all-time in scoring (174), eighth all-time in assists (62), and third all-time in three-point field goals made (34) in the franchise’s postseason record books.
The Marquette stand-out is currently playing overseas with Israeli League club, Maccabi Bnot Ashdod, who recently took home the 2022-23 Maccabi Women State Cup. Since joining the team in December, Hiedeman has averaged 14.6 points, 6.4 rebounds and 6.0 assists per contest. Prior to her time in Israel this offseason, Hiedeman was named the Director of Player Development for the Penn State Women’s Basketball team. She formally played under the Lady Lions’ head coach Carolyn Kieger at Marquette from 2015-19.
Hiedeman and the Sun tip off the 2023 season on Friday, May 19 at the Indiana Fever at 7:00 PM EST.
