5th Annual Scarecrows in the Meadows
The Scarecrows are Coming! The Litchfield Historical Society is excited to announce the return of its 5th Annual Scarecrows in the Meadows. The scarecrows will be on display in the Tapping Reeve Meadow from October 19 – October 31 and open for visiting every day from dawn to dusk.
The Opening Celebration will be on Saturday, October 19 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. in the Tapping Reeve Meadow. Everyone is invited to explore the assembly of scarecrows, all created by local businesses, non-profits, and families. The opening celebration will feature a scarecrow making challenge, storytelling, and fall crafts and activities all day.
The event is made possible by the dozens of participants that give their time, energy, and creativity to create Scarecrows. Special thanks to our gold sponsors the Litchfield Inn, O&G Industries , and William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty, as well as our bronze business partners Ace Hardware of Litchfield, the Clothes Tree, the Litchfield Prevention Council, and the Lost Fox Inn.
