Since their emergence in 2009, RIVAL SONS have reignited and recharged rock ‘n’ roll with towering vocals, uncompromising guitar playing, and thunderous grooves to enthusiastic fans the world over. Hard-working road hounds CLUTCH have been proving themselves on stage night after night for more than three decades – vocalist Neil Fallon declaring “If you’re gonna do it, do it live on stage, or don’t do it at all” in their 2013 track “Earth Rocker”. It’s an ethos the band still cleave to today. Fans will soon get another chance to witness the electrifying live magic these skillful musicians conjure, with the announcement today of CLUTCH and RIVAL SONS’s upcoming fall co-headline tour.

Titled The Two Headed Beast Tour, the North American run is set to captivate 23 cities, with a stop at New Haven, CT’s College Street Music Hall. In an unexpected twist, both bands will be performing the majority of songs on one of theirbest-loved albums: Blast Tyrant for CLUTCH and Great Western Valkyrie for RIVAL SONS. As for special guests, FU MANCHU will support.

CLUTCH’s chief storyteller Neil Fallon declares, “We are looking forward to our tour with Rival Sons. Throughout the course of our set, Clutch will be performing Blast Tyrant. Both bands have plenty of mutual fans and will garner many more throughout the course of the Two Headed Beast Tour. We hope to see you there!” Scott Holiday, guitarist of RIVAL SONS, adds, “We’ve wanted to put something together with Clutch for a long time!

They’re one of the acts that we could notice people rep’ing at our shows, so we’ve always thought it could make a really great double bill! Happy to bring the “Two-Headed Beast” to life! The riff will be strong on this tour …as will the good times!”

Refresh your memory of Blast Tyrant by listening to the deluxe edition of the album on Spotify here, which has clocked up nearly 87 million streams on Spotify alone, including beloved tracks “The Regulator” and party starter “The Mob Goes Wild.”

Listen to RIVAL SONS 2014 album Great Western Valkyrie, now in its tenth year, here on Spotify, which has racked up nearly 69 million Spotify streams and includes fan favorites “Electric Man” and “Open My Eyes”.

Most recently, CLUTCH released a special, limited version of seminal album Transnational Speedway League: Anthems, Anecdotes, and Undeniable Truths on vinyl for the first time. The remastered edition is available exclusively as a gatefold 12″ LP, including a band-signed insert. The vinyl is a stunning 180-gram translucent emerald green, housed in robust, extra-heavy sleeves. Sticklers for high quality detail, even the gatefold jacket is printed on luxe, metalized, polyester paper. This numbered, limited edition is restricted to just 7500 units worldwide. Order it here.

CLUTCH’s thirteenth studio album, Sunrise On Slaughter Beach, was released in September 2022 and is a slamming summary of everything that makes the band great. The band have released three official singles – “Red Alert (Boss Metal Zone)”, “We Strive For Excellence” and “Slaughter Beach”. Sunrise On Slaughter Beach is the natural culmination of what CLUTCH began as teenagers in the early ‘90s. It’s a new chapter in an ever-unfolding story which means as much to the fans as it does to the band.

Double Grammy-nominated band RIVAL SONS released two albums last year to critical acclaim. DARKFIGHTER (June 2023) and LIGHTBRINGER (October 2023) were released on Low Country Sound/Atlantic Records. “Suited and booted, twice-Grammy-nominated, Rival Sons sound stadia-ready, ” stated MOJO.

RIVAL SONS have recently announced a remastered reissue of critically acclaimed third full-length album Head Down (2012); described as “howling blues rock meets psychedelic pop perfection”. Head Down includes the hit single and fan favorite “Keep On Swinging”, plus poppy retro dance numbers “Until The Sun Comes” and “Wild Animal.” An album that showcases the versatility of Rival Sons, Head Down also includes the classic ballad of death and loss “Jordan” and “Manifest Destiny Parts 1 & 2”, an epic stonking room shaker of betrayal and revenge of the Native American People. Out on May 24th, the reissued Head Down will be released on their own record label Sacred Tongue Recordings and distributed through Thirty Tigers. Rival Sons

Rival Sons play rock ‘n’ roll in its purest form without apology or pretense. Instead, they simply plug in, turn up, and rip on a path of their own. Along the way, they’ve architected a critically acclaimed catalog, including Pressure & Time [2011], Head Down [2012], Great Western Valkyrie [2014], Hollow Bones [2016], and FERAL ROOTS [2019]. The latter represented a creative and critical high watermark, scoring a pair of GRAMMY® Award nominations in the categories of “Best Rock Album” and “Best Rock Performance” for the single “Too Bad.” Elevating the band to another level, “Do Your Worst” vaulted to #1 at Rock Radio as their biggest hit to date, tallying north of 60 million streams and counting. Speaking to their impact, Rolling Stone attested, “Rival Sons have done their part to introduce new fans to rock.” Beyond sharing stages with everyone from Black Sabbath, The Rolling Stones, and AC/DC to Guns N’ Roses and Lenny Kravitz, they’ve ignited television shows such as The Late Late Show with James Corden. During 2021, they launched their own label Sacred Tongue Recordings distributed by Thirty Tigers and celebrated the tenth anniversary of Pressure & Time by performing the album in its entirety on tour. Ultimately, Rival Sons aren’t here to tell you exactly what to think or what to feel, but they’ll give you one hell of a ride if you let them. That ride twists and turns like never before on their 2023 seventh full-length LP, DARKFIGHTER [Low Country Sound / Atlantic Records] kickstarted by the single “Nobody Wants to Die.”

Clutch

Clutch shares more in common with The Grateful Dead, Rush, and the Allman Brothers than their heavy riffs and heady twists-of-phrase might suggest. Because like those bands, the supporters who adore Clutch are there for the experience, community, and authentic connection.

To love Clutch is to feel a sense of ownership, membership, and belonging.

Seneca Valley High School classmates Neil Fallon (vocals), Tim Sult (guitar), Dan Maines (bass), and Jean-Paul Gaster (drums) share an unshakeable musical and personal bond now three decades strong. Shaped by the same region which birthed Bad Brains, Minor Threat, and Rites Of Spring, Clutch crafts hyper-literate and libertine jams informed by hardcore fury and fuzzy, athletic, stoner rock.

A worldwide cabal of fans and critics cherish the band’s dense and diverse catalog of underground classics, released through major labels, indies, and since 2009, Clutch’s own Weathermaker imprint. Sunrise On Slaughter Beach, the band’s thirteenth studio album, is a slamming summary of everything that makes the band great and another giant leap forward into career longevity.

“There’s no question that Clutch etched themselves a name in the pantheon of great rock bands,” Lambgoat wrote in 2004. Classic Rock Magazine counted 2013’s Earth Rocker and 2015’s Psychic Warfare among the 50 Best Rock Albums of the 2010s. Rolling Stone described 2018’s Book of Bad Decisions as “bathed in the grit and liberal fuzz tone that have made their live shows legendary.”

Those live shows over the years include tours with Slayer, System Of A Down, and Marilyn Manson, and more recent co-headlining treks with Dropkick Murphys, Killswitch Engage, and Mastodon. Like Slayer or Iron Maiden, Clutch outlasted rock bands anchored to “hit songs” and the pressure of replicating them. The foursome from Germantown, Maryland, isn’t bound by trends. Across 13 studio albums and assorted releases since 1991, they’ve earned a reputation as one of the best around.

Fu Manchu

Originally formed in 1985 as a Black Flag-influenced hardcore punk band called Virulence, Fu Manchu has since become one of hard rock’s most celebrated names. The band released its first single “Kept Between Trees” in 1990 and in the years following, helped give rise to an iconic style of heavy music born out of the desert and tagged “stoner rock” alongside peers such as Kyuss, Monster Magnet and Sleep.

Since the band’s inception, the quartet has built itself a fanatical army of loyal enthusiasts all drawn to the group’s guitar-driven sound and carefree lyrics centered on “old muscle cars, choppers, vans, skateboarding and science fiction.” Over their career, the band has released 13 albums and has performed to sold out audiences all over the world.

2024 marks another first for the “fuzz rock” pioneers with the release of their 14th album, The Return Of Tomorrow, their first double album of new material. Conceived as vinyl listening experience, the first LP features 7 songs in their iconic heavy fuzz sound including the first single, “Hands Of The Zodiac” and the relentlessly catchy “Loch Ness Wrecking Machine.” The second LP sees the band mellowing out with 6 slower tempo jams including the synth inflected “Solar Baptized” and the title track. Both LPs are 45RPM for the thickest possible sound. Digital listeners need not worry, as the CD, download and streaming versions of the album are mastered specifically for those formats.

In the 6 years since their last album of new material, Scott Hill, Brad Davis, Bob Balch and Scott Reeder released a live album, 6 reissues, 3 new EPs and the soundtrack to Glen E. Friedman’s documentary, A Look Back – Dogtown & Z-Boys, in addition to a rigorous touring schedule. The Kings of The Road aren’t slowing down anytime soon.
