Recent Faxon Law New Haven 20K Champions Sweep Men’s Olympic Marathon Trials
The Men’s race at today’s U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials in Orlando was led by Utah’s Conner Mantz (’22 Faxon Law 20K Champ) finishing in 2:09:05. Finishing a second behind Mantz was his training partner Clayton Young (’23 Faxon Law 20K Champ). Finishing third in 2:09:57 was Colorado’s fast charging Leonard Korir (2016, 2017 and 2019 Faxon Law 20K Champ). Both Mantz and Young will run in the Paris Olympic Marathon. Korir needs to run a qualifying time to guarantee his spot in Paris.
The women’s race was won by California’s Fionna O’Keeffe in 2:22:10. Rhode Island’s Emily Sisson (’23 Faxon Law 20K Champ) followed in 2:22:42. Minnesota’s Dakotah Lindwurm (6th in ’23 Faxon Law 20K) finished 3rd in 2:25:31. All the top 3 women have qualified to run in the Paris Olympic Marathon.
As the Country’s longest running national championship, the Faxon Law New Haven 20K traditionally features a number of U.S. Olympians annually in their race. Last year’s race featured 6 former U.S. Olympians.
