Pizza, A Love Story

Real Art Ways is thrilled to present Pizza, A Love Story: Throwdown & Screening, a special evening that combines film, food, and community.

Friday, October 10, from 6:30 – 9:30 pm, ticketholders will enjoy a live pizza demo, blind slice tasting, screening of Pizza, A Love Story (the story of the greatest pizza in the world), and a Q&A with the filmmakers.

What to Expect

6:30 – 7:00 pm: A live demonstration from Hartford Pizza Garden and blind slice tasting from three local pizza restaurants: Sally’s Apizza, Zephyr’s Street Pizza, and Joey’s Pizza Pie.
After sampling slices, the audience will vote for their favorite. A winner will be announced before the Q&A.
7:00 – 8:40 pm: Screening
After the film, Director Gorman Bechard and Producers Dean Falcone and Colin M. Caplan will appear on stage for a post-screening conversation.

About the Film

Pizza, A Love Story is a mouth-watering documentary that traces the origins of New Haven’s Italian-American pizza heritage, focusing on three legendary establishments: Frank Pepe’s, Sally’s Apizza, and Modern Apizza. With special appearances by Lyle Lovett, Henry Winkler, Michael Bolton, Rick Nielsen, Dave Portnoy, and others, the film is a tribute to the people, passion, and community that keep pizza culture alive.
