Parkville Art Gallery Unveils Latest Exhibition

Parkville Art Gallery is thrilled to announce the latest rotation of featured artists, showcasing a dynamic new collection of work from local talent. The gallery’s quarterly exhibition continues its mission to support and elevate emerging and established artists from the community, offering fresh perspectives across a variety of mediums. To mark the occasion, a reception will be held on Thursday, May 8, at 1429 Park Street, Suite 204, from 6pm-9pm.
The new gallery exhibit includes artists Mia Erickson, Jonathan Frechette, Christine Chaise Greenwood, Peter Greenwood, Edith Skiba Lamonika, Andre Rochester, Mark Schebell and Robert Zott. Alongside the quarterly rotation of featured artists, Parkville Art Gallery is proud to permanently showcase the work of its two artists-in-residence: Miguel Jose Matos, Gallery Director, and Antony Zito, Associate Director. As foundational members of the creative team, their pieces offer a continuous throughline within the space—grounding the gallery’s curatorial vision in their distinct artistic perspectives. The mediums represented in the 4,000 square foot gallery are wood sculptures, blown glass, painting, collage, photography, and upcycled art.
“With each rotation, our Gallery takes on a whole new life,” said Meredith Longo, Managing Director. “We’re fortunate to have so many artists take an interest in our space, let alone the amazing response from the public since we opened our doors in September 2024.”
The newest development at Parkville Art Gallery is its expansion into a creative studio adjacent to the gallery space, just across the hall. The dedicated area will serve as a working studio for the Gallery’s artists in residence, and as a venue for classes led by Associate Gallery Director, Antony Zito.
In addition to the expansion, Gallery 2 Go was launched in February. The program partners Parkville Art Gallery with local businesses, elevating otherwise plain interiors with engaging and vibrant local art. Gallery Director Miguel Matos and Associate Gallery Director Antony Zito assist in curating the collection from the Gallery for business owners, make suggestions based on the space, and handle the technical aspects of installation. Participating businesses so far include: Dead Language Beer Project and Story and Soil Coffee.
The May 8 celebration is free and open to the public and will include a grazing table from local caterer Distinctive Ideas, and music from DJ Gabrielle Lakshmi. As always, Gallery neighbors Dead Language Beer Project will be open for the duration of the opening; the brewery is located on the first floor of 1429 Park in Suite 115.
Guests can RSVP to the opening night celebration via Eventbrite: here
