MoCA Westport annual benefit, The Surrealist Soirée returns on September 30
Experience the surreal at MoCA Westport’s annual Surrealist Soirée on September 30th, 2023. Marvel in the unique, otherworldly artworks and activities provided by the Museum of Contemporary Art. Enjoy a night of surrealism and exploration–it’s a one-of-a-kind experience!
MoCA Westport proudly presents a legendary celebration in support of the arts, with over 20 years’ experience in organizing memorable fundraiser events. Join them to help build upon the Museum’s long-standing tradition.
The Soirée is co-chaired by Westporters Deborah Murtaugh and Erika Miller.
Deborah Murtaugh is an accomplished art enthusiast who has been living in Westport for over two decades. She has served two terms as President of the Board of MoCA Westport and is now part of the Museum’s Executive Committee. Deborah also recently joined the Arts Advisory Board at the Quick Center for the Arts at Fairfield University. With deep involvement in the art scene of Fairfield County, Deborah is the perfect art expert.
Erika Miller has been a Westport resident for twenty years, where she has championed arts and community initiatives. She was a board member of the Westport Arts Center, leading the WAC Gives Back initiative to provide arts experiences for underserved communities. Additionally, she served on the board of Neighborhood Studios in nearby Bridgeport, CT.
“MoCA has always been known for its creative and immersive events and we look forward to welcoming both familiar and new faces in the community to this dynamic event,” commented Murtaugh.
She added, “Party goers will have a chance to experience an atmosphere both mysterious and metaphysical. Guests are encouraged to tap into their subconscious while embracing the unexpected and unconventional in a playful environment of fun and fantasy.”
“After a few quiet years, we are beyond thrilled to host a fabulous evening celebrating the arts and MoCA with friends from near and far. An evening filled with creative indulgence and surprise feels long overdue for us all,” stated Miller.
