Max Cares Foundation accepting applications for 2026 Culinary Arts and Hospitality Scholarships

The Max Cares Foundation is accepting applications for its 2026–2027 Culinary Arts and Hospitality Scholarship program, offering financial support to students pursuing careers in the culinary and hospitality industries.

Graduating high school seniors and currently enrolled college students living in the Greater Hartford and Greater Springfield regions are encouraged to apply. Applications and eligibility details are available online, and the deadline to apply is May 10.

Eligible applicants may receive up to $5,000 to help cover educational expenses related to culinary arts or hospitality and restaurant management programs. Scholarship funds may be used for tuition, supplies, room or board at any accredited college, university or trade school offering programs in those fields.

In 2025, the foundation awarded 12 scholarships totaling $30,000. For the upcoming academic year, the organization has increased the total scholarship pool to up to $40,000. Since 2017, the foundation has awarded 74 scholarships to students pursuing education in hospitality and culinary arts.

To qualify, applicants must reside in a city or town within the Greater Hartford or Greater Springfield regions and either be a high school senior eligible for graduation in the same year as the application or a current college student in good standing pursuing a degree in culinary arts or hospitality and restaurant management. Previous recipients may reapply if they continue to meet eligibility requirements.

The foundation reserves the right to distribute scholarship funds directly to the recipient’s educational institution, and awards must be used within 12 months.

Founded in 2015 and recognized as a 501(c)(3) public charity in 2016, the Max Cares Foundation supports charitable initiatives and nonprofit organizations throughout the Greater Hartford and Greater Springfield regions. In addition to its scholarship program, the foundation hosts community initiatives such as Roasts for the Holidays and raises funds through events including the Max Golf Classic, the Winter Wine Gala, and Grand Tasting.
