Keeler Tavern Museum & History Center Reopens March 1
In January and February, KTM&HC was closed for routine maintenance and collections care. On Saturday, March 1, KTM&HC reopens to the public, and visitors can once again tour our historic house and learn about centuries of site history via engaging, interpreter-led tours.
Tour options include the Battle-of-Ridgefield-focused “War at Home,” the early 20th-century-focused “Creating Community,” and the debut of our newest tour, “Beams to Balustrades,” that explores how our site residents shaped the architecture of the historic house over centuries.
Tickets can be purchased online, at the Visitor Center, or by calling 203-438-5485.
Also celebrate our reopening by participating in First Sunday, on March 2. The museum will be open and visitors can take a free 20-30 minute “Highlights” tour of the historic building – specially designed to engage younger visitors. In the Garden House from 1 to 4 p.m. only,
visitors can practice weaving skills with KTM&HC educators: make simple patterns, create
bracelets, and experiment with different techniques.
Admission for First Sunday is free but registration for tours is required. Sign up online or stop by the Visitor Center.
The First Sundays series is funded by a generous grant from M&T Bank. On the first Sunday of each month, visitors receive free site admission, which includes a tour of our historic tavern museum and access to current exhibits and beautiful grounds. Free site admission also includes special hands-on activities and crafts in the historic Garden House from 1 to 4 p.m.
