Keeler Tavern Museum & History Center Closed for Paving Nov. 6-12
Site improvements continue at Keeler Tavern Museum & History Center. From Monday, November 6 to Sunday, November 12, the site will be closed to the public, to allow for paving of our newly expanded parking lot and driveways. No museum tours or exhibit access will be available during this time, and no car or pedestrian traffic will be able to enter the site. Staff will be working remotely and will be available via phone or email during regular business hours, Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. In March of this year, KTM&HC broke ground on a major site redesign project to prioritize wayfinding and accessibility. The project – which includes new parking, driveways, brick walkways, lighting, landscaping, and signage – ensures that visitors experience the site as a cohesive, accessible, and appealing historic attraction on foot as well as by car. To date, improvements to parking and walkways have already transformed the four-acre site. The next stage of our ongoing project – paving and the installation of new lighting throughout the campus – will take place in the coming weeks.
The site will reopen to pedestrian traffic on Monday, November 13 and onsite business hours will resume on Tuesday, November 14. Site admission, including museum tours, will resume on Thursday, November 16. Click here for more information about what’s happening at Keeler Tavern Museum.
