Hartford Stage to mark 10th anniversary of Anastasia world premiere with fundraiser

Hartford Stage will celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the world premiere of Anastasia the Musical with a special one-night-only fundraising event on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at 7:30 p.m.

The concert will reunite members of the original creative team and artists from the 2016 Hartford Stage production that launched the musical’s journey to Broadway and beyond. Among those scheduled to appear are Tony Award–winning director Darko Tresnjak and Christy Altomare, who originated the role of Anya both in Hartford and on Broadway. Additional guests will be announced.

Anastasia premiered at Hartford Stage in 2016 before transferring to Broadway, touring internationally and becoming one of the most successful new musicals of its era. The anniversary event highlights Hartford Stage’s role in developing new work and supporting emerging and established artists.

“This anniversary is not only a celebration of Anastasia, but of Hartford Stage’s mission to nurture ambitious new works,” Artistic Director Melia Bensussen said in a statement. “We are thrilled to welcome back the artists who helped bring this extraordinary production to life.”

The fundraising concert will feature select musical performances and behind-the-scenes reflections on the show’s development and legacy. A dessert and champagne reception with the artists will follow the performance. Proceeds will benefit Hartford Stage’s artistic and educational programs.

Tickets are on sale now starting at $100 and include assigned seating and admission to the post-show reception. Tickets may be purchased at HartfordStage.org, by calling 860-527-5151, or at the Hartford Stage box office at 50 Church St.

Hartford Stage advises patrons to purchase tickets only through official channels, noting that third-party resellers may offer invalid tickets at inflated prices.
