The Guilford Art League will host its 79th Annual Art Exhibit on the Guilford Green from Friday, July 17 through Sunday, July 19, 2026. The outdoor exhibition will run from 10 am to 7 pm on Friday and Saturday, and from 11 am to 5 pm on Sunday. Visitors will be able to view and purchase original paintings, sculptures, and photographs directly from participating league members.

A total of 24 artists are scheduled to display their work during the three-day community event. The exhibition will also feature live artistic demonstrations, including a pastel demonstration by Pam Carlson and a handmade paper demonstration by Chris Penry. The displays will be located on the north end of the Guilford Green, near 122 Broad Street.

The event runs concurrently with the Guilford Art Center Craft Expo, an annual festival that hosts over 175 craftspeople from across the United States. The Guilford Art League was originally established in 1947 by local artists who organized their first exhibitions using a snow fence on the green. The growth of that initial show eventually led to the creation of the separate Guilford Handcraft Center, which is known today as the Guilford Art Center.

The membership of the art league consists of both full-time professional artists and part-time creators working in related professional fields. Beyond the summer exhibition on the green, the organization coordinates multiple community events throughout the year, including an upcoming annual juried art show scheduled for September at the Guilford Art Center. The group also hosts exhibitions at the Guilford Community Center and the Guilford Free Library, and funds an annual scholarship for a Guilford High School senior pursuing arts education.

Admission to the annual summer exhibit on the green is free to the general public. Paid parking will be available on the west side of the town green at St. George’s Church, and free parking options can be found at alternative locations throughout the surrounding neighborhood.
