Fairfield University to host downtown performances for Make Music Day on June 21
As part of a worldwide celebration in over 120 countries, Make Music Fairfield brings free, live performances to the Town of Fairfield — including two downtown stages hosted by Fairfield University’s Center for Arts & Minds and the Fairfield University Store.

Fairfield University is proud to participate in Make Music Fairfield, a free, community-wide celebration of music taking place on Saturday, June 21, with live performances and family-friendly festivities at two University-hosted locations in downtown Fairfield. This global event, held annually on the summer solstice, invites musicians of all ages, skill levels, and styles to perform throughout town, transforming Fairfield into a stage for music-making.
From 1 to 9 p.m., an outdoor stage in the pocket park at Fairfield University’s newest downtown location, 1720 Post Road, will feature a lively mix of faculty musicians and regional artists. Hosted by Fairfield University’s Center for Arts & Minds, highlights will include The Zambonis, The Flatts, Brian Dolzani, and Persian Goodbye. The day kicks off with The Noodlers, a band composed of Fairfield faculty, followed by a 3 p.m. performance from Margaret Collins, PhD, adjunct professor of Visual and Performing Arts.
Full performance schedule at 1720 Post Road:
- The Noodlers (rock/blues) – 1–2 p.m.
- Brian Dolzani (folk/singer-songwriter) – 2–3 p.m.
- Meg Collins, PhD (world) – 3–4 p.m.
- Persian Goodbye (pop/indie-rock) – 4–5 p.m.
- Jedd Chlebowski (jazz/electronic) – 5–6 p.m.
- Adam Weisblatt (experimental) – 6–7 p.m.
- The Flatts (rock/country/folk) – 7–8 p.m.
- The Zambonis (rock) – 8–9 p.m.
In addition to great music and family activities, refreshments and food will be available for purchase later in the afternoon, with complimentary water and light snacks provided throughout the event. Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets.
Earlier in the day, the Fairfield University Store at 1499 Post Road will host live performances from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., featuring a range of local musicians:
Performance schedule at 1499 Post Road:

Make Music Fairfield is part of the global Make Music Day celebration, which began in France in 1982 as Fête de la Musique and now takes place in over 2,000 cities and more than 120 countries worldwide. Open to everyone—regardless of age, skill level, or musical background—it is a free, participatory festival where music fills streets, parks, storefronts, and public spaces.
Now in its eighth year, Make Music Fairfield is made possible with the support of the Town of Fairfield, the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development – Office of the Arts (with support from the National Endowment for the Arts), the Fairfield Theatre Company, and a host of dedicated volunteers.
