Ben Sollee
Ben Sollee has spent nearly two decades blurring musical boundaries, and his career reflects a deep commitment to both artistry and community. After his last album in 2017, he took a break from touring to grow his family and deepen connections in Louisville, KY. Now a father of three, he has leaned into composing, scoring films such as LAND from director Robin Wright and Maggie Morre(s), a John Slattery film featuring Tina Fey and Jon Hamm. He also scored the podcast series Unreformed, recently nominated for a Peabody Award. Beyond music, Sollee helped launch Canopy, a nonprofit supporting Kentucky businesses that positively impact their communities and planet.
Like so many, the COVID-19 years, which Sollee refers to as “the great pause,” brought loss and grief. The deaths of his mentor Jon Rieger, his father Bob Sollee, and his longtime musical partner Jordon Ellis led to deep reflection and growth. His nearly two-year struggle with long-COVID forced him to reconsider his relationship with his body and creativity. “I realized the most radical thing you can do is to care for yourself; not in some optimized, individualistic way, but as an aspect of nature and society.” Without Ellis as his percussive keystone, Sollee felt creatively adrift but embraced it as an opportunity for growth and new collaborations. Whether composing, performing, or advocating for his community, Sollee continues to evolve, constantly arriving but never finished—on a long haul.

The Samples eleventh show in The Warehouse will be a sunny reminder of some of the best music to come out of the 90s. Residing somewhere between The Police and The Dead, The Samples are reggae rock with a serious focus on the melodic. They came out of Boulder Colorado in the late 80s and started gaining notoriety when touring the states with 90s rock staples, Dave Matthews Band, Phish, and Blues Traveler. They’re more than a band – they’re a representation of a culture of fans and music.

The Brian Dolzani Band
Fairfield-native singer/songwriter Brian Dolzani celebrates his tenth album release at this special full band show on Stage One. The Endless Sky is a new collection of songs that finds Brian doing what he does best, looking in all directions: up, down, outward, and inward. You’ll hear songs about being Open to Surprise, the deeper love of Moonlit Love, and the title quote: ‘The endless sky is where I point my arrow / I wonder just how far there is to go’, from I Wonder. The Endless Sky will be released in early May.
An introverted and shy kid, a young introspective Brian met his first guitar at age fifteen when he also lost his father, and almost his mother, in a car accident. Pouring his whole being into music was the salve he needed, and Brian still retains that urgent sense of digging the deepest wells of life for songs and the will to carry on. ‘I didn’t know where I was welcome / I feared every outcome / wishing I could die / if I couldn’t run / I learned to hide myself away / and soon came the day / I was empty as a rain barrel / in the desert sun’, he sings in Who I Am. There is always hope and redemption after the pain, so Brian continues, ‘Who I am / is flesh and bone and tiny bits of stars / who I am / what I could not see / is everything that’s beautiful in me’.
Brian and his longtime band of friends (John, Bill, and George – yes, almost the Beatles) will also perform fan favorites from his recent albums such as Horse and We Are Magic as well as singles and unreleased gems. There’s also a good chance they will play a Neil Young song, as Brian is well-known for his Neil tribute project The Loner.

Sugar Mountain brings together an ensemble of veteran musicians who faithfully replicate the songs of one of our era’s most prolific and beloved singer/songwriters, Neil Young.
Neil Young’s career spans an amazing five plus decades, from the seminal country rock sounds of Buffalo Springfield and super group Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young to garage band Crazy Horse and countless genre bending solo releases, spanning everything from folk, country, electronic and hard rock to rockabilly.
Sugar Mountain brings to life the Neil Young concert experience, covering all of the best known songs, hits and deep cuts that are sure to thrill all, from the most ardent of fans to the casual Neil listener.

Jake Shimabukuro
Over the past two decades, Jake Shimabukuro has proved that there isn’t a style of music that he can’t play. While versatility for any musician is impressive, what’s remarkable about Shimabukuro’s transcendent skills is how he explores his seemingly limitless vocabulary – whether it’s jazz, rock, blues, bluegrass, folk or even classical – on perhaps the unlikeliest of instruments: the ‘ukulele. Responding to the urgent calls of his fervent imagination, the Hawai’i-born virtuoso has taken the ‘ukulele to points previously thought impossible, and in the process he’s reinvented the applications for this tiny, heretofore underappreciated four-string instrument, causing many to call him “the Jimi Hendrix of the ‘ukulele.”
