Eileen Ivers to bring celtic fiddle performance to Fairfield University’s Quick Center on March 1
Internationally acclaimed Celtic fiddler Eileen Ivers will perform with her ensemble, Universal Roots, at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 1, at the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts at Fairfield University.
The concert offers an early St. Patrick’s Day celebration for Fairfield County audiences, featuring Ivers’ signature blend of traditional Irish music with American roots, jazz, blues and global influences.
Ivers is widely recognized for her role as a founding musical force behind Riverdance, the international stage production that helped popularize contemporary Irish music and dance. Over a career spanning more than four decades, she has been praised for redefining Celtic fiddle performance with high-energy, genre-crossing arrangements.

A Grammy-winning and Emmy-nominated artist, Ivers has performed and toured with musicians including Sting, Patti Smith, Al Di Meola, Hall & Oates and The Chieftains. She also was a founding member of the Irish-American ensemble Cherish the Ladies and has appeared as a guest soloist with more than 60 symphony orchestras worldwide, including the London Symphony Orchestra and the Boston Pops.
The daughter of Irish immigrants, Ivers draws from both her Irish heritage and American upbringing, creating performances that bridge cultures and musical traditions. Backed by Universal Roots, she delivers a program rooted in Celtic tradition while incorporating contemporary influences.
