Connecticut-based non-profit raising to host local art show to aid medical efforts in Ukraine
Maidan United to “Blue and Yellow” at Moxi on the Rocks in East Hartford on Sunday, July 31
July 22, 2022/WETHERSFIELD, Conn…On Sunday, July 31, 2022, Connecticut based non-profit, Maidan United, in partnership with Quiver Spirits and Moxi on the Rocks, invites the public to attend “Blue and Yellow,” a fundraising event to benefit those impacted by the war in Ukraine. This unique art exhibition will feature work by local Ukrainian and American artists as well as light refreshments. The event will run from 2pm to 8pm at 87 Church Street Art Gallery, Suite 206, in East Hartford, CT. There is a $10 suggested donation.
Attendees will be able to purchase all the artwork presented at the show with proceeds raised going towards helping Ukrainian civilians in need of medical care, as well as Ukrainian soldiers fighting on the front lines.
Maidan United was founded in 2014 when Russia invaded Ukraine. Since February, 2022, the organization has raised over $385,000 USD in cash donations, in addition to medical equipment. All donations have gone toward helping those impacted by Russia’s attacks on Ukraine.
“The situation in Ukraine is dire. Especially when it comes to basic medical needs. Over 700 medical facilities were completed destroyed or damaged since the start of the full-scale war in Ukraine. Innocent civilians, including children, are dying because it’s impossible to get a hold of basic medications or the hospitals in their area have been bombed,” says Natasha Sazonova, a volunteer for Maidan United and organizer of the art show.
“We’re very grateful Ukraine is not alone in this fight and the American people are with us in this unfair fight against tyranny. It’s amazing to see so many Connecticut artists uniting to show their support for Ukraine and to help us raise funds for life-saving medical supplies for Ukrainians,” she continued.
