Darius Rucker announces Songs of Summer Tour, stops in Bridgeport in July
Three-time Grammy Award winner Darius Rucker will bring his 20-city Songs of Summer Tour to the Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater on July 17, 2026.
The summer outing, promoted by Live Nation, will feature special guests Robert Randolph and Austin Williams. Tickets go on sale Friday, Feb. 27, at 10 a.m. through Rucker’s official website.
“For me, it’s not summer if we’re not playing music outdoors,” Rucker said in a statement. “When I think of the concerts I love attending, it’s the people, the hits, and the hot summer air … there’s nothing that compares, so Songs of Summer in a lot of ways is my nod to being in that moment together.”
The tour will visit amphitheaters and outdoor venues nationwide. VIP packages will be available and may include premium seating, a pre-show meet-and-greet and photo opportunity with Rucker, a guided backstage tour, and an autographed tour poster. Details vary by package.
In addition to the tour, Rucker recently announced a one-night-only Big Band Gala on April 7 at the Charleston Gaillard Center in Charleston, South Carolina. Presented by Explore Charleston, the concert will feature Rucker backed by the Charleston Jazz Orchestra. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the CMA Foundation and the Carolyn G. Rucker Nursing Scholarship at MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital.
Rucker first rose to prominence as the lead singer and rhythm guitarist of Hootie & the Blowfish, whose debut album, Cracked Rear View, is among the best-selling studio albums of all time. Since launching his country career in 2008, he has earned four No. 1 albums on the Billboard Country chart and 10 No. 1 singles at country radio.
He was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 2012 and won a Grammy Award in 2014 for Best Solo Country Performance for his version of Wagon Wheel. His most recent album, Carolyn’s Boy, is available now, along with his 2024 memoir, “Life’s Too Short.”
A longtime philanthropist, Rucker has raised millions for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital through his annual Darius and Friends benefit concert and golf tournament and has supported public education and youth programs in South Carolina through the Hootie & the Blowfish Foundation.
