Connecticut Sun announces Connecticut Sun Basketball skills clinics for April 2023
The Connecticut Sun, today, announced that the organization will be putting on its second set of Connecticut Sun Basketball Skills Clinics in the month of April. The Sun will be providing two clinics, featuring high-level coaching and instruction to kids, grades 2-12.
The first of the two skills clinics will be held at Notre Dame High School (1 Notre Dame Way, West Haven, CT 06516) on Friday, April 7. The clinic will be divided into two sessions. Session 1 will be for girls grades 2-5, from 8:30-10:00AM. Session 2 will be for girls, grades 6-8 from 10:15-11:45AM. Registration is $30 per player.
The second clinic, offered to all genders grades 5-12, will take place at Saint Bernard School (1593 Norwich-New London Turnpike, Montville, CT 06382) from 9:00-12:00PM and will be held over the course of three days, Tuesday, April 11 through Thursday, April 13: Day 1 will be ball handling and footwork; Day 2 will incorporate jab steps and finishing skills; and Day 3 will focus on shooting skills and give clinic attendees the opportunity to compete in games. Attendees will also participate in a classroom discussion, where they will breakdown of the skills being learned each day. Registration is $75 per player, per day; or $200 for all three days.
Every participant will receive a Connecticut Sun Basketball Skills Clinic t-shirt. Registration for both clinics is now open.
To put on these clinics, the Connecticut Sun will be working in conjunction with members of and resources from two local youth basketball programs, Connecticut Basketball Academy and Progression Training, LLC. CBA Girls Director and Coach, Jason Kirck will be leading the clinics at Notre Dame High School; while Progression founders Keith and Falecia Porter will be facilitating the clinics at Saint Bernard School.
