Connecticut jam band Goose releases sixth studio album Big Modern

Connecticut jam band Goose released their sixth studio album, Big Modern!, today through No Coincidence Records. The 15-track record is the group’s third full-length studio project in just over a year.

Unlike the band’s last two records, which featured songs spanning their entire career, the new material was written entirely in the present moment. Lead singer and guitarist Rick Mitarotonda noted that the project developed organically from concepts that first started during the writing of their 2025 album, Everything Must Go.

The album moves through a variety of musical styles, including heartland rock piano ballads, orchestral jazz interludes, and 1980s-influenced synth rock. The 15 tracks build heavily on the four-piece band’s established improvisational style.

The album features the new single “Good Times // End Times,” which released alongside an official music video directed by Will Thresher on YouTube today. The track follows the album’s first single, “Good2B,” which jumped from number 10 to number 7 this week on national Triple A radio outlets.

The promotional rollout for the record included a guerrilla marketing campaign featuring a Morse code website and an appearance at Madison Square Garden with Emmy-nominated actor Jake Lacy. Band members sat courtside wearing bright yellow hoodies that spelled out “FACE,” a reference to lyrics in the fan-favorite title track.

The release coincides with the launch of the band’s 2026 summer headline tour, which begins tonight in Toronto. The extensive summer run includes a two-night stand at Madison Square Garden on June 19 and 20, alongside sold-out dates at the Leader Bank Pavilion in Boston and Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado.

The band will return to Connecticut later this autumn during their newly announced fall headline tour. Goose is scheduled to play a two-night stand at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville on November 13 and 14.

The band also confirmed they will travel to Riviera Maya, Mexico, in early 2027 to play two top-billed sets at the Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds residency event.

One dollar from every ticket sold on both the summer and fall 2026 tours will benefit the Western Sun Foundation. The volunteer-run 501(c)3 organization supports grassroots nonprofits in the local cities that the band visits while on tour.
