Concert review: More Bacon, Please.

The Bacon Brothers absolutely owned the stage at the Ridgefield Playhouse on January 21^st.

From the first note to the final encore, the night struck that perfect balance of tight musicianship, effortless chemistry, and pure joy. Kevin and Michael Bacon were relaxed, sharp, and clearly having a great time – which made the entire room feel like part of the show rather than just an audience watching one. Their 17^th performance at this venue, they seemed at ease with the stage, the audience, and the whole band. The setlist moved seamlessly between soulful grooves, smart songwriting, and moments of humor and storytelling that only deepened the connection.

Actor and musician Kevin Bacon has been a long-time Connecticut resident and is very much associated with the state. He and his family have lived in the area for years, and he is frequently involved in local community and cultural events.

What really stood out was how intimate the performance felt. The Ridgefield Playhouse is already a special venue, but the Bacon Brothers elevated it – turning the evening into something that felt personal, warm, and genuinely memorable. No pretense, no overproduction – just great songs, great playing, and great energy.

It was one of those concerts where you leave smiling, humming a few tunes, and thinking, yeah, that was exactly what live music is supposed to feel like. What were some of my favorites: “36 Cents”, their cover of Pat Benatar’s “We Belong”, and of course their cover of Kenny Loggin’s “Footloose”.

If you missed this show, put them on your must-see list next time they come through. And if you were there – you already know.
