Concert Review: Cowboy Junkies gave a mesmerizing performance at the Wall Street Theater

The Cowboy Junkies delivered a mesmerizing performance at the Wall Street Theater in Norwalk,on February 21st. Margo Timmins’ haunting vocals filled the intimate venue, creating a captivating, soft folk music-like atmosphere. The band’s well-known seamless blend of folk, rock, and blues resonated with the age-diverse audience, showcasing their musical versatility. They played two set lists –the first was from their just-finished new album, Such Ferocious Beauty, and the second set featured their classic hits. Both sets kept the crowd well-engaged throughout the night. The synergy among band members was clear and helped increating a truly memorable experience for the near sold-out crowd.

The crowd, on more than one occasion, called for the Junkie’s version of Sweet Jane, a cover of Lou Reed’s/Velvet Underground’s 1969 slower version of the song. The song was delivered as the first song of the second set and was met with thunderous applause by the audience. The Cowboy Junkies are an amazing band –and Margo Timmins’ voice is still as awe-inspiring as ever. The Cowboy Junkies are still making music and their concerts are still worth attending.
