Colorado quartet Big Richard to celebrate debut album Pet at Fairfield Theatre Company
Colorado-based Americana quartet Big Richard will mark the release of their highly anticipated debut album, Pet, with a live show at Fairfield Theatre Company on Wednesday, March 25. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $25–$28.
Since emerging on the Colorado music scene in 2021, Big Richard has built a reputation for electrifying live performances, tight vocal harmonies, and fiddle-driven arrangements that blend bluegrass, old-time, classical, country, and pop. Known for their irreverent stage banter and dynamic four-part harmonies, the group has toured nationally, performing at festivals including Telluride Bluegrass, Delfest, Bourbon & Beyond, Jam Cruise, and New Year’s Eve at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium.
Pet, recorded live to tape to capture the energy of their performances, features the quartet’s signature mix of kinetic harmonies, string virtuosity, and provocative songwriting. Mandolin and guitar player Bonnie Sims said the approach allowed the album to translate the band’s live intensity to record: “Big Richard is so much about our energetic delivery, and it was really important for us to figure out how to do that for a record.”
