Charity Fur Ball in West Hartford to Support Shelter Animals on March 6

Animal Rescue Foundation, Inc. will host its third annual Charity Fur Ball on Friday, March 6, offering an evening of music, dancing and fundraising to benefit homeless pets in need.

The semi-formal event will be held from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the Fred Astaire Dance Studios Ballroom, 430 New Park Ave., in West Hartford. Proceeds from the night will support ARF’s mission of rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming abandoned, abused and neglected animals.

The evening will feature a mix of entertainment and fundraising activities, including a silent auction with gift baskets and experiences, a wine pull fundraiser, and open dancing. Guests will also receive a complimentary introductory group ballroom dance lesson led by professional instructors from Fred Astaire Dance Studios.

“The Charity Fur Ball is an evening of joy, generosity and community,” said Sarah Kelleher, fundraising event coordinator for the Fur Ball at Animal Rescue Foundation, Inc. “Not only is it a wonderful opportunity for guests to enjoy music and dancing, but their participation directly benefits the animals in our care. As a volunteer-run rescue, every ticket purchase helps provide food, medical care and shelter for cats and dogs in need.”

The schedule begins with the ballroom dance lesson from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m., followed by general dancing, the silent auction and wine pull fundraiser from 7:15 to 9 p.m. Hors d’oeuvres, desserts, wine and non-alcoholic beverages will be available throughout the evening.

Tickets are $35 per person or $60 per couple and must be purchased in advance. All proceeds directly support ARF’s life-saving programs. In the event of inclement weather, the Charity Fur Ball will be rescheduled for Friday, March 13.

Animal Rescue Foundation, Inc. is a nonprofit, no-kill, volunteer-run shelter based in Terryville that works to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome animals while promoting responsible pet ownership and animal welfare across Connecticut.
