Celebrity chefs and regional vendors added to Savor New England at Mohegan Sun

Mohegan Sun has added a lineup of celebrity chefs and regional food vendors to the second annual Savor New England festival. The outdoor culinary event takes place on Saturday, June 20, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Sun Patio.

The featured chefs include Will Gilson, co-owner of Puritan & Company in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and Food Network personality Michele Ragussis. Award-winning certified chef Nick Calias, the director of food and beverage at The Colonnade Hotel in Boston, will also participate.

Gilson, Ragussis, and Calias are scheduled to square off in a live chowder competition. Festival attendees will have the opportunity to sample the entries and vote for their favorite recipe.

Award-winning pastry chef Adam Young will also be at the event serving signature baked goods. Young operates Sift Bake Shop and A.T.Y Bar & Bonbons, which are located inside Mohegan Sun’s winter entrance.

The food festival focuses on regional seafood specialties, artisan creations, and traditional New England dishes. Mohegan Sun will also feature its new Reel Catch food truck during the event, which serves coastal items such as lobster rolls, fish and chips, and clam chowder.

A variety of regional food and beverage providers are anchored at the festival. The participating vendor lineup includes Archie Moore’s, Beauty & Essex, Frozen Cheeks Frosty Treats, CT Chowder Bus, Ocean State Shellfish Cooperative, Reel Catch, Sift Bake Shop, and Wicked Southern Coffee.

Tickets for the four-hour event are currently available online. General admission tickets cover entry to the Sun Patio, and all food and beverages will be available for separate purchase inside the event space.
