CBS journalist Lesley Stahl to headline 2024 Travelers Championship Women’s Day Breakfast
The Travelers Championship today announced that renowned journalist Lesley Stahl will headline this year’s Women’s Day Breakfast. The event will take place Thursday, June 20, at TPC River Highlands, and net proceeds will benefit tournament charities.
“The Women’s Day Breakfast is an event we all look forward to, and with Lesley as our headliner, this year’s program promises to be exceptional,” said Travelers Championship Tournament Director Nathan Grube. “Lesley has one of the most distinguished careers in journalism and, having broken a number of barriers in her time, she will no doubt leave the audience feeling inspired.”
Travelers is once again the presenting sponsor of the Women’s Day Breakfast. Hartford HealthCare will serve as the supporting sponsor, and Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Mastercard and Red Thread | Steelcase will be event partners.
“We’ve sponsored the Women’s Day Breakfast since its start in 2009 and have watched it grow from just a couple of hundred people into a premier tournament week event that sells out,” said Chris Kalla, Executive Vice President and General Counsel at Travelers. “While the program is continually evolving, the reason behind the event has remained a constant. We’re providing women with a forum to network, learn from one another and get more involved in the game of golf.”
Lesley Stahl is one of America’s most honored and experienced broadcast journalists. Her career has been marked by political scoops, multiyear investigations, hard-hitting interviews, revealing features and award-winning foreign reporting. She joined CBS News in 1971 and was the first woman at CBS to serve as White House correspondent and host of “Face the Nation.” Stahl has also interviewed numerous world leaders during her more than 30 years as a “60 Minutes” correspondent. She has been recognized with 13 Emmys, including one for Lifetime Achievement; the Edward R. Murrow Award; the Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University Silver Baton; the Founders Award for Journalistic Excellence from the International Center for Journalists; and Radio Television Digital News Association’s highest honor, the Paul White Award.
Additional speakers will be announced in the weeks ahead. Tickets will go on sale at 11 a.m. on May 22 at TravelersChampionship.com. Tickets will be limited to two per person and will include general admission and parking to the tournament’s first round of competition on Thursday, June 20.
