Mohegan Sun announces October event schedule for 30th birthday celebration

Mohegan Sun will celebrate 30 years of operation in October with a slate of live performances, pop-up venues, gaming contests, and special dining menus. The Uncasville resort first opened its doors on October 12, 1996, and has since expanded to include two hotel towers, an arena, and multiple dining and retail options.

The main day of festivities is scheduled for Saturday, October 10. Country music artist Lainey Wilson will perform at Mohegan Sun Arena, while Flo Rida takes the stage for a free show in the Wolf Den at 8:00 p.m. Following the concerts, a red carpet event outside MJ23 Sports Bar & Grill at 10:00 p.m. will welcome guests including Kyle Cooke, Teresa Giudice, Erin Lichy, Lainey Wilson, and Flo Rida before the 30th Birthday Party Hosted by DJ Cassidy opens inside the Uncas Ballroom.

Special venue additions include Mohegan Sun’s 30th Birthday Bar, operating daily from October 1 through October 12 in the Sky Tower Lobby. The pop-up features themed specialty drinks named after property history, with a appearance by television personality Kyle Cooke set for 9:00 p.m. on October 10.

Gaming operations will feature themed events throughout the month. The Mohegan Sun FanDuel Sportsbook is hosting a free-to-enter 30-leg Pick ‘Em contest from October 6 through October 11 focused on Sunday professional football games, featuring a $30,000 grand prize alongside watches, concert tickets, and slot play. Additionally, the Mohegan Sun Poker Room will host a $30,000 Guarantee No Limit Hold’ Em Tournament on October 10 with a $300 entry fee.

Restaurants across the property are participating in a month-long Signature Stroll. Participating venues, including Beauty & Essex, novelle, TAO Asian Bistro & Lounge, and Todd English’s Tuscany, will offer temporary menu items that pay homage to former dining locations from the property’s history.

The October celebration also includes a concert schedule at Mohegan Sun Arena featuring Alanis Morissette on October 2, Foo Fighters on October 4, John Mayer on October 9, and DJ Cassidy’s Pass The Mic Live! on October 11.
