Artist Eddie Hall to feature reclaimed window artwork at Kehler Liddell Gallery

Artist Eddie Hall will showcase his latest body of work, Framework, in a joint exhibition running from September 9 through October 11 at Kehler Liddell Gallery in New Haven’s Westville village.

Hall utilizes reclaimed house windows as both the physical canvas and the central subject for the collection. His pieces feature systems of color, pattern, and perception applied directly to glass, combining hard-edge painting with architectural abstraction.

The creation process requires working in reverse, building design elements from the foreground to the background. Hall incorporates matte acrylic surfaces, transparent sections, reflective metal leaf, and exposed glass that react with surrounding light and wall surfaces.

Each piece retains the original frames, glass panes, hardware, and physical imperfections of the salvaged materials. This approach allows the history and structural elements of the reclaimed objects to shape the finished contemporary artwork.

An opening reception with artist talks is scheduled for Saturday, September 19, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Additional gallery viewing hours will be held on Friday, October 2, during Westville’s First Friday event.

The exhibition takes place alongside photographer Hank Paper’s collection See-Scapes, Street and Landscape Photographs. Located at 873 Whalley Avenue, Kehler Liddell Gallery is a cooperative venue representing 22 area artists and is free to the public.
