Daniel LLanas appointed as the new general manager at Lake Compounce

Lake Compounce has named Daniel LLanas as the new general manager of the Bristol amusement and water park. LLanas brings more than 25 years of leadership experience across the theme park, water park, and destination-attraction industries to the position.

In his new role, LLanas will manage overall park operations, guest experience, financial performance, and team development. He steps into the position as the venue continues its focus on serving families across New England and beyond.

Most recently, LLanas served as director of admissions for Aquaventure World at Atlantis The Palm in Dubai. In that role, he managed admissions and guest-arrival operations for more than two million annual visitors across three major attractions.

Before his time in Dubai, LLanas spent over a decade in leadership positions with SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment. His experience there included serving as vice president of merchandise for SeaWorld and Aquatica San Antonio, along with holding senior operations roles across several parks.

LLanas expressed enthusiasm about joining the Lake Compounce team and the Herschend family as he and his family relocate to Connecticut. He noted the park’s rich history and strong connection to generations of visitors, adding that he looks forward to working alongside staff to build upon that legacy.

Lake Compounce features more than 50 rides and attractions, including roller coasters such as Boulder Dash, Phobia, Venus Vortex, and Zoomerang. The park is also home to Crocodile Cove, which stands as Connecticut’s largest water park.

Crocodile Cove remains open for the final days of the summer season through September 7. Following the summer run, the park will launch its annual Phantom Fall Fest event on September 19, running on select dates through November 1.
