New Haven Academy of Performing Arts announces dates and cast for regional production of Mean Girls

The New Haven Academy of Performing Arts teen program will present the Broadway musical adaptation of Mean Girls this month. The theatrical production is scheduled to run from July 16 through July 19 at the Cabaret on Main Theater. The venue is located at 597 Main Street in downtown East Haven.

The staging features actors aged 14 to 18 who are participants in the organization’s Broadway Bound Summer Intensive. The local performance integrates multi-sided projections designed to surround the audience on three sides during the show. Tickets are priced at $37 for adults and $32 for students, with sales handled online through the theater website.

The production is directed by Neil Fuentes and Nick Rapuano, with musical direction managed by Edwin Rodriguez. Choreography duties are split between T’asia Newton-Harris and Gina Helland, while Billy DiCrosta serves as the producer. The musical itself features a book by Tina Fey, music by Jeff Richmond, and lyrics by Nell Benjamin.

The performance schedule includes evening shows at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Additional weekend showtimes include a Saturday matinee at 2:00 p.m., followed by two Sunday stagings at 1:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. The plot follows a student transitioning from Africa to a suburban Illinois school where she navigates social hierarchies.

The production features a multi-member ensemble cast of local student performers. The participating cast includes Kylie Acquaraulo-Savastano, Brooke Atwater, Adeline Bontly, Samantha Bransfield-Yugcha, Santana Brightly, Luke Cashman, Emma Castiglioni, Nella Clark, Lillian Corbiere, Janiyah Correa, Victoria Cyr, Robert D’Angelo, Laila Dennison, Sophia De Oliveria, and Carya Ewen.
