Chester to host First Friday Night Art Stroll in May

The town of Chester will host its next First Friday Night Art Stroll on May 1, featuring late-night shopping, gallery viewings, and live musical performances throughout the downtown area.

The event, which runs from 5 to 8 p.m., includes participation from the majority of the town’s local shops, restaurants, and galleries.

At the Leif Nilsson Spring Street Studio & Gallery, located at 1 Spring St., artist Leif Nilsson will share anecdotal tales regarding both old and new paintings inspired by his home and travels. The gallery will host a “happy hour or two” featuring live entertainment by Paddy Whack, who will perform traditional and original fiddle tunes and ballads.

The Little House Brewing Company at 16 Main St. will also participate in the evening’s festivities. The brewery is scheduled to host the Mike & Rich Acoustic Duo from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The duo is expected to perform a range of acoustic and soft rock hits spanning from the 1960s to the present day.

The First Friday Night Art Stroll is open to the public. For more information regarding specific gallery showings or brewery events, residents may visit the websites of the individual participating businesses.
