The Edge Fitness Clubs to unveil new strength training hub in Danbury

The Edge Fitness Clubs will officially open its new EdgeLIFT training space at its Danbury location in early April, with a grand opening celebration scheduled for April 9.

The specialized strength training hub, located at 100 Newtown Road, occupies a space formerly used as a cinema room. The area has been transformed into a dedicated Olympic-style lifting environment featuring professional-grade Sorinex equipment, including six to eight squat racks with lifting platforms and bumper plates.

“By converting this underutilized space into a dedicated strength training environment, we’re reinforcing our commitment to giving members access to best-in-class equipment and programming,” said Nick Rascati, General Manager of The Edge Fitness Clubs Danbury.

The new space is designed for performance-based workouts and includes rubberized flooring and selectorized machines to complement free-weight training. The facility will also introduce small-group classes led by lifting experts, aimed at helping both beginners and experienced athletes build confidence with barbells and plates.

The Danbury upgrade is part of a broader shift toward a hybrid fitness model at the club. In addition to EdgeLIFT, the location is introducing EdgeCORE Pilates reformer sessions and Edge InfraRED Yoga, which combines traditional yoga with infrared heat therapy.

Vinny Sansone, President and Founder of The Edge Fitness Clubs, noted that the reopening reflects the brand’s ongoing commitment to innovation. The company currently operates more than 40 locations across nine states, serving more than 350,000 members.
