Center for Family Justice names Mark Antonini, Interim President and CEO

The Center for Family Justice (753 Fairfield Ave, Bridgeport, CT 06604) has appointed Mark Antonini as interim president and chief executive officer following the retirement of longtime leader Deb Greenwood.

Antonini joined the organization in 2013 as chief financial and administrative officer and brings more than 40 years of experience in finance, accounting, and operations. In his role at CFJ, he has worked closely with staff, community partners, donors, and the board of directors on daily operations and long-term planning.

In a joint statement, the CFJ Board of Directors said Antonini’s appointment reflects confidence in the organization’s continuity and future direction.

“Mark has a deep understanding of the organization’s operations as well as the needs and challenges of the individuals and families it serves,” the board said. “We are confident in his ability to guide CFJ during this period and help position the organization for its next chapter.”

Antonini succeeds Deb Greenwood, who retired after 19 years as president and CEO. During her tenure, Greenwood expanded the organization’s reach and visibility, including growing Speaking of Women into CFJ’s signature annual fundraising event and leading the development of Patti’s Place to increase access to safe and confidential shelter. She also helped establish the agency as Connecticut’s Family Justice Center, a nationally recognized model that provides 24/7 crisis services, advocacy, legal support, children and youth services, prevention education, and safe shelter under one roof.

The board has begun a formal search for the organization’s next president and CEO, forming a search committee and engaging an external search firm. Board members said they are committed to identifying a leader who understands CFJ’s mission and can guide its next phase of growth.

CFJ is a nonprofit organization serving individuals and families impacted by domestic violence, sexual violence, and child abuse. In addition to direct services, the agency engages the broader community through prevention education initiatives and fundraising events.

Upcoming events include the 14th annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes on April 25, hosted by Gary MacNamara, and “An Inspiring One-Man Show” featuring lifestyle expert Mar Jennings on May 22 at 7 p.m. at the Sacred Heart University Community Theatre. Proceeds from both events will benefit the Center for Family Justice.
