Fairfield University announces March 2026 arts lineup featuring Temple Grandin, David Brooks, and Orchestra Lumos

For Which It Stands…Presented by the Fairfield University Art Museum

Fairfield University has unveiled a wide-ranging schedule of arts, culture, and academic programs for March 2026, featuring nationally recognized performers, authors, scholars, and exhibitions across campus venues.

Highlights at the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts include Orchestra Lumos’ American Gems on March 8, part of the ensemble’s season celebrating America’s 250th birthday, and a March 25 lecture by Temple Grandin titled “The Way I See It: A Personal Look at Autism.” Grandin, a prominent author and advocate, will address how people on the autism spectrum think and learn, offering practical strategies for parents, educators, and individuals.

The month concludes with New York Times columnist David Brooks delivering the 2026 Bennett Center for Judaic Studies Lecture on March 29. His talk, “How To Know a Person,” will serve as the closing keynote of a university symposium centered on Viktor Frankl’s Man’s Search for Meaning.

Additional Open VISIONS Forum programs include CNN chief national security analyst Jim Sciutto on March 16 discussing the impact of foreign affairs on the United States, and author and humorist Gina Barreca on March 24 exploring Italian American culture.

Music offerings span genres and generations. Jazz at Lincoln Center brings “Great American Crooners” to the Quick Center on March 19, celebrating vocalists such as Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett. Pianist Orin Grossman will present “A Celebration of Gershwin” on March 22, highlighting George Gershwin’s wide-ranging influence from Broadway to symphonic works.

Opera enthusiasts can attend a live transmission of The Metropolitan Opera’s production of Wagner’s Tristan und Isoldeon March 21 as part of The Met: Live in HD series.

The university’s art museums and galleries will host several events tied to the exhibition “For Which It Stands…,” including gallery talks, curator-led tours, and hands-on workshops exploring identity and symbolism through flags. A March 19 lecture by historian Louis P. Masur will examine the history and impact of a 1976 photograph depicting a civil rights protest in Boston.

Other programs throughout the month address artificial intelligence, ethics, interfaith dialogue, and global conflict, including lectures by Kim Daniels, Alex John London, and Malka Z. Simkovich, as well as an exhibition opening, “Icons on Ammo Boxes: Christian Art of Hope and Sorrow from the War in Ukraine,” on March 31.

Many events connect to Fairfield University’s America250 initiative, which examines the promise and paradox of the nation’s upcoming 250th anniversary through the lens of arts and scholarship.

Events are open to students and the public, with select programs requiring tickets or advance registration. A complete schedule and additional details are available through Fairfield University’s arts and culture calendar.
