Little Theatre of Manchester announces concert series at Cheney Hall

Little Theatre of Manchester at Cheney Hall has announced a new lineup of concerts featuring collegiate a cappella and tributes to some of rock’s most enduring artists.

The series will bring the Yale Whiffenpoofs, the internationally known a cappella group from Yale University, to Manchester’s historic Cheney Hall at 177 Hartford Road. Additional performances will pay tribute to artists including Elton John, Van Morrison, Linda Ronstadt, and Led Zeppelin.

Organizers say the concerts are designed to offer audiences an intimate experience, with cabaret-style table seating that allows guests to enjoy the performances in an up-close setting.

The Yale Whiffenpoofs
Friday, February 27 at 7pm

Every year, 14 senior Yale students are selected to be in the Whiffenpoofs, the world’s oldest and best-known collegiate a cappella group. Founded in 1909, the “Whiffs” began as a senior quartet that met weekly at Mory’s Temple Bar. Today, the group has become one of Yale’s most celebrated traditions. Singing a mixture of old Yale tunes, jazz standards, and other hits from across the decades, the Whiffenpoofs perform more than 200 concerts across six continents each year. Tickets are $19 to $61.

Moondance – The Ultimate Van Morrison Tribute
Sunday, March 1 at 4pm

Rock n’ roll doesn’t get any better than Van Morrison, and this incredible show captures the quintessential Van Morrison experience like no other! Experience note-for-note performances of Morrison’s vast catalog, all backed by a five-piece band. Featuring classic songs like “Brown Eyed Girl,” “Moondance,” “Into The Mystic,” and more.
