Multi-platinum rock band The Fray will bring its Summer of Light Tour to Connecticut with an Aug. 23 stop at the Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater in Bridgeport.

The Bridgeport show is part of a wide-ranging North American tour that runs through the summer and features special guests Dashboard Confessional and Colony House. Promoted by Live Nation, the tour launched May 11 in Moncton, New Brunswick, and wraps up Aug. 29 in Chicago, with stops across Canada and the United States.

The tour supports The Fray’s upcoming album, A Light That Waits, set for release on March 13. The record marks the band’s first full-length album in years and signals a renewed creative chapter rooted in emotional clarity, cinematic songwriting, and the signature sound that first connected the band to fans more than two decades ago. The title track, “A Light That Waits,” is available now.

“We have such great memories of touring in the summer,” drummer Ben Wysocki said in a statement. “The vibe for us and for the fans is something that we’ve all really connected with. Getting these new songs in front of people is going to be exciting.”

Formed in Denver, The Fray rose to prominence in the early 2000s with a soul-searching alternative rock sound that blended intimacy with widescreen emotion. The band has earned four Grammy Award nominations, three Billboard Music Awards, and multiple Top 10 hits. Their breakout single, “How to Save a Life,” is RIAA Diamond-certified and spent 58 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming a defining anthem of the era through its association with ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy.”

Special guest Dashboard Confessional will join The Fray in Bridgeport. Led by singer-songwriter Chris Carrabba, Dashboard Confessional emerged as a defining voice of early-2000s alternative and emo, known for its confessional lyrics and acoustic-driven sound. The band continues to tour in support of its most recent album, All the Truth That I Can Tell.
