American Mural Project to open 2026 Live @AMP Series with Grammy-winning jazz artist Nicole Zuraitis

American Mural Project (90 Whiting St, Winsted, CT 06098) will launch its 2026 Live @AMP concert series with an intimate performance by two-time Grammy Award-winning jazz vocalist and songwriter Nicole Zuraitis on Saturday, February 7, at 8 p.m.

The concert will take place beneath AMP’s five-story indoor mural, the world’s largest collaborative artwork, which celebrates the role of work in American life. Zuraitis will present a program titled My Favorite Songs, performing at the piano while sharing music that has influenced her career along with the stories behind the selections.

The performance opens Live @AMP: Women Take the Lead, a four-concert series highlighting acclaimed female performers. With jazz recognized as a distinctly American art form, the event also marks the launch of AMP’s America 250 series of programs.

“I am over the moon that we have the opportunity to present this amazing artist in a one-of-a-kind setting,” said Live @AMP series curator Michelle Begley. “Her My Favorite Songs program is a rare opportunity for jazz fans to hear this singular talent at the piano singing the songs that have influenced her on her journey and telling the stories behind them.”

Tickets are $50 plus service fee in advance and $60 at the door. Student tickets are $10 plus service fee in advance and $20 at the door. Tickets will be available at the door, subject to availability, and advance reservations are strongly recommended. Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are on sale now at AmericanMuralProject.org under the Events tab.

Zuraitis is a two-time Grammy-winning and four-time Grammy-nominated jazz singer-songwriter, pianist and arranger based in New York. She won the gold medal at the 2021 American Traditions Vocal Competition and is known for blending powerful vocals with original compositions and inventive arrangements.

She has released five albums as a leader, with her sixth, How Love Begins, earning the 2024 Grammy Award for Best Jazz Vocal Album. Co-produced with eight-time Grammy winner Christian McBride, the album features all original music written and arranged by Zuraitis, making her the only artist to win the award with a fully self-written and arranged project.

Zuraitis has performed at major festivals and venues including the Newport Jazz Festival, Melbourne International Jazz Festival, Tanglewood, and leading New York City jazz clubs such as Birdland, the Blue Note and Dizzy’s Club at Jazz at Lincoln Center. She has also appeared as a featured soloist with orchestras including the Savannah Philharmonic and Asheville Symphony.

In addition to her performance career, Zuraitis is an educator and serves on the vocal faculty at New York University and SUNY Purchase.
